Gastronomic Tour to Friuli
If you love Italian food and wine you will love this gastronomic tour!! Crossing the countryside of the Veneto Orientale, we reach the vineyards of firstly the Veneto, and then on to the Friuli region where we head for the hills of Corno di Rosazzo and Cividale to visit a top wine maker/oenologist and his vineyard.
Wine-tasting includes great whites and full-bodied reds such as Cabernet, Merlot, Refosco and Tocai Friulano.
Lunch takes place in a tiny Trattoria near the Slovenian border with home-made specialties, Schioppettino wine and of course Grappa! After lunch we will make our way to the picturesque medieval town of Cividale del Friuli, which was founded in 50 B.C by Julius Caesar, where will cross the Devils bridge with its spectacular views over the river and enjoy a short walk around the historical centre. We will also have time to stop off at the designer shopping outlet at Palmanova before making our way back to Venice.
